Tearful X Factor loser Carolynne Poole said she still has "a soft spot" for Louis Walsh after he voted against her staying on the hit show.

The singer said she was "gutted" to lose out but wanted to get back into the studio and keep working.

She was booted off after a controversial elimination show saw Louis appear to back her against Rylan Clark, before changing his mind to back Rylan and forcing the show to the public vote, which Carolynne lost.

She told ITV1's This Morning: "It's really weird because I like Louis, I really do, I've still got a soft spot for Louis - you know what he's like, he's been like that forever.

"And as soon as I was in the bottom two with Rylan I thought 'that's it' because I know the show love Rylan and Rylan's one of my friends since boot camp and I really don't like that it's created an opportunity for people to be really nasty to Rylan because he is nice."

She told the show that her mentor, Take That star Gary Barlow, was left "fuming" by the decision.

She said: "We couldn't really talk properly because we get dragged everywhere afterwards but I didn't want to look at him too much because I was getting upset, I felt like I'd let him down a bit, you know?"
