Blanchett to star in Clooney film?
Cate Blanchett could be starring with George Clooney after being "sought after" for his next film The Monuments Men.
The Oscar-winning Australian actress is tipped to take a supporting role as Rose Valland, an art historian and member of the French Resistance in the WWII drama, reported The Wrap.
George is to produce, write, direct and also star in the big-screen version of Robert M Edsel's book of the same name, which focuses on a group of art experts selected by the US Government to chase down stolen art during the Second World War.
The Hollywood star also proved he doesn't hold any ill feelings towards The Artist's Jean Dujardin by "eyeing" him for a part, despite the French actor taking home the best actor Oscar, which they were both up for this year.
George could also be reunited with his Ides Of March co-star Paul Giamatti, who is rumoured to play the co-founder of the New York City ballet, Lincoln Kirstein.
Talks are still in the very early stages, but production is set to get under way in Germany, Austria, and Paris in spring 2013.
Cate, who had her third son with playwright Andrew Upton in 2008, was last seen on the big-screen in Joe Wright's action thriller Hanna in 2011.
She has reprised her role as elf queen Galadriel in Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings prequel The Hobbit, due out later this year.
