Usher's stepson has been seriously injured in a jet ski accident
Usher's stepson has been seriously injured in a jet ski accident.
Kyle Glover, the 11-year-old son of the singer's ex-wife Tameka Foster, was reportedly struck on the head by a passing jet ski while riding on an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia at the weekend.
He was taken to the Children's Healthcare unit at Atlanta's Egelston Hospital and gossip TMZ.com reported that he had been declared brain dead by doctors as he "has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital."
Usher is reported to have chartered a plane for Tameka to get to the hospital and has joined her at her son's bedside.
Tameka spoke to website Radaronline after the accident, saying of her son's condition: "He's bad."
She apparently wrote on her Facebook page, "Kyle, You are strong... You'll be saved I know it. I love you my baby. I need all #Prayers for my son! thank you everybody!"
The incident is being investigated, with the department of natural resource in Atlanta launching an inquiry. A district attorney will decide whether or not to file charges against the driver of the jet ski, once the department has completed their investigation.
Mother-of-five Tameka has two children by the singer, Usher Raymond VI, four, and three-year-old Naviyd Ely Raymond. Kyle is one of two sons she had with Atlanta tailor Ryan Glover. She gave birth to her first son as a teenager.
Usher and Tameka were married in 2007 but split two years later and have been locked in an ongoing custody battle, with Tameka fighting for full custody of their two sons, while Usher wants more visitation rights.
