George Clooney is refusing to listen to any Oscar buzz about his new movie Up In The Air.
At the film's LA premiere the ladies' favourite was having none of it.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't listen to any of that," he laughed.
He jokingly added that any talk of Academy Awards brings back painful memories.
"There was a lot of Oscar buzz for Batman and Robin and there I was in a nippled bat suit. Didn't work out for me..."
Despite his protestations, Up In The Air has been garnering a lot of praise from critics.
In it Clooney plays a man employed to travel around the country firing people. The story was originally penned before unemployment figures soared in recent years in the States.
George explained how director and co-screenwriter Jason Reitman had felt compelled to address the current times.
"It was important to re-address the way they were making the film. It can't just be a flat-out comedy, you have to actually address what people are going through and that seemed to be the smart way to do it. Jason was very smart in trying to bring in real people to talk to them and I thought that was a great way to do it."
