Sunday Night At The London Palladium is set to return to ITV with an all-star line-up of hosts that includes Rob Brydon and Jack Whitehall.

The classic TV show was a hit between 1955 and 1967, featuring household name comedian hosts such as Sir Bruce Forsyth and Bob Monkhouse and celebrity guests, and has been credited with kicking off Beatlemania in the UK after the band performed on it in 1963.

According to The Sun, the show has now become the latest in a line of ITV revivals including Celebrity Squares and Catchphrase.

Each week there will be a different host, and joining Rob and Jack on the list of those confirmed to front the programme are Jimmy Carr and Bradley Walsh.

Guests set to appear are Neil Diamond, Art Garfunkel, Bryan Adams, Maroon 5, The Script, Nicole Scherzinger, Little Mix, Alan Davies, Sarah Millican and Milton Jones.

There will also be a glimpse of new musical Made In Dagenham, which stars Gemma Arterton, and the show will take place at the Palladium, as the original did, which was until recently home to cancelled X Factor musical I Can't Sing!.

An ITV spokesperson said of the six-part series: "Some of the UK's best-loved comics and entertainers will host one show each and introduce some of the biggest stars from music and comedy.

"There will be jaw-dropping acts from around the world, plus surprise guests."

Sunday Night At The London Palladium was revived for a year in 1973 and has spawned spin-offs Live From The Palladium and Tonight At The London Palladium, which last aired in 2000.
