Sylvester Stallone is to lead his all-star cast from The Expendables 3 - including Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas - in an armoured-vehicle siege of Cannes.
The team of veteran action heroes are to take the coastal town in the South of France by storm when they arrive for its famous film festival to promote the movie - parading along the seafront in tanks on Sunday May 18.
The third instalment of Sly's hit franchise about a group of ageing and outcast mercenaries will see the 67-year-old return as leader Barney Ross alongside returning co-stars Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger. They are joined by new cast members including Gibson, Ford, Snipes, Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Randy Couture, Kellan Lutz, Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell. Director Patrick Hughes will also join them in the Cannes parade, Millennium Films president Mark Gill told Deadline.
He said following a screening of footage from the movie, the studio has organised for a stretch of the Promenade de la Croisette to be shut down so the cast can be taken by tank to the Carlton Hotel, which will be hung with banners representing each of the characters.
The dramatic day will be topped off with a big party at the Palm Beach nightclub.
Gill said: "For a 30-second TV spot in America, you spend just as much," adding that Cannes is, "for better or for worse, the place where the whole world is watching for 10 days."
