Giedroyc art disaster on Draw It!
Mel Giedroyc has claimed she is the worst artist involved in new quiz show Draw It!.
The comedian is presenting the Channel 4 game show based on app Draw Something, which pairs celebrities with fans of the app to compete in teams to guess what each other are drawing.
But she said her own artistic talents wouldn't get her far: " I like a little doodle, when I'm on the phone I just tend to doodle cubes. I'm sure that means there's something very wrong with me if you were to give it to a psychologist.
"But I literally can't draw to save my life and I've been watching every single person, celebrity, non-celebrity, go through the Draw It! studio and I am definitely worse than any of them, even worse than Terry Wogan."
The Great British Bake Off presenter said it brought out the competitive nature of all those involved: " Louis Spence, all over it. Stacey Solomon, all over it. Very focussed and it brings out the quite competitive side of people.
"People that you might not think are remotely competitive, get them in the Draw It! studio and they are absolutely in it to win it."
Mel added that despite her lack of artistic talent, she had been keen to sign up to the show.
She said: "I got sent the American show Draw Something because it's been pretty popular over there and they said, 'Look, do you fancy it?' I thought, 'Hmm, never done a quiz show before, is it me, I'm an actor,' all that rubbish.
"Saw the show, was totally gripped. I was so gripped by the game itself that I phoned my agent immediately and said, 'Definitely yes'."
Draw It! begins on Channel 4 on May 5 at 4.30pm.
