Lindsay Lohan is reportedly the subject of an extortion plot after her laptop was stolen.

The starlet was at an airport in China when her computer was swiped, and Radar Online reported that the thieves then accessed her Twitter account and posted messages pretending to be from the actress.

A source said the thieves have since been in touch with Lindsay demanding money.

"It's an extortion plot, plain and simple. They were able to access her computer immediately," said the insider.

Li-Lo's team are apparently trying to "wipe the computer remotely" in a bid to keep the Mean Girls star's private information and photographs to herself but have not managed it so far.

And TMZ reported that the 27-year-old, who is rebuilding her life and career following years of personal and legal troubles, is offering an unspecified reward for the return of her laptop.
