Cumberbatch is Brit Of The Year
Benedict Cumberbatch has scooped the British Artist Of The Year award from Bafta LA.
The US branch of the film and TV organisation has named the Sherlock star for the honour thanks to his high-profile movie roles, as well as his small screen work, according to Deadline.
He will receive the gong at the 2013 Britannia Awards for representing "the best of UK talent".
Benedict, 37, is currently at the Toronto International Film Festival with three new films - The Fifth Estate where he stars as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, 12 Years A Slave and August: Osage County.
He is also due back on TV screens soon in the third series of Sherlock, with Martin Freeman.
This year's Britannia Awards, which will also honour George Clooney, Kathryn Bigelow and Ben Kingsley, will be held in Beverly Hills on November 9.
