US TV bosses have commissioned a full series of the remake of British hit Gavin And Stacey.

The main characters are understood to retain the same names in the adaptation - called Us And Them - of the sitcom, created by James Corden and Ruth Jones.

Jason Ritter from Parenthood and Alexis Bledel, who has appeared in Mad Men, will take the main roles.

Gavin, who was originally played by Mathew Horne, will hail from New York rather than Billericay in Essex, and Stacey - who was first brought to life by Joanna Page - will come from smalltown Pennsylvania rather than Barry in South Wales.

The creators of the series, James and Ruth, are joined by Steve Coogan as executive producers of the show which has been snapped up by Fox.

The series is being made by Sony Pictures Television as well as BBC Worldwide.
