David Oyelowo is back on the small screen in Complicit
David Oyelowo has said his dad has constantly pestered him to return to British TV - despite his flourishing film career.
The former Spooks star, who now lives in the US, is taking a break from his big-screen career to play an MI5 officer again in new TV drama Complicit.
But in the last few months, the British actor has starred alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher and Daniel Day-Lewis in Oscar-nominated movie Lincoln.
But David said his dad was always telling him: "'You have to come back and do the BBC."
The actor said he was glad to be back in Britain, not just to please his dad, saying of the country: "We make the best television in the world."
:: Complicit is on Channel 4 on Sunday, February 17.
