Ricky Gervais says he's happy to put his future TV shows on Twitter
Ricky Gervais has said he doesn't need TV bosses to like his sitcoms - because he can put his shows on Twitter.
The funnyman, whose new show Derek is on Channel 4 following a pilot last year, is already in talks with YouTube about making a show for them.
Ricky has insisted he'll make more episodes of Derek even if the broadcaster doesn't want it, the Daily Mirror reported.
"Whether Channel 4 wants it or not, I will be doing another six episodes," he said. "I don't need them, I've got four million Twitter users. I can just put it on there."
He added: "The times they are a changing. TV channels must embrace it and use it."
The creator of The Office and Extras dismissed the controversy surrounding Derek, in which he plays a man who appears to have learning difficulties, saying: "There is nothing you can say that someone won't find offensive, literally nothing."
