Daniel Craig stars as 007 in Skyfall, the most successful Bond movie of all time
Skyfall has become the first movie ever to take a nine-figure sum at the UK box office.
The film, already the most successful movie hit in the UK, has now passed the £100 million mark in the year the 007 movies celebrated their 50th anniversary.
It has also become the third film of 2012 to make one billion US dollars worldwide, making it the highest grossing film in studio Sony's history and the most successful Bond movie ever.
The flick, in which Daniel Craig makes his third outing as the suave secret agent, joins Avengers: Assemble and The Dark Knight Rises in reaching that figure in global ticket sales this year.
Directed by Sam Mendes, 007's 23rd outing also stars Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes. It sees Bond battling with villain Raoul Silva (played by Javier), who aims to take revenge on his former boss M (Dame Judi).
Sony vice chairman Jeff Blake said: "To see a film connect with audiences is always gratifying, but the success of this film is nothing short of extraordinary.
"After 50 years of entertaining audiences all over the world, Skyfall is the most successful James Bond film of all time."
