One Direction performed at the US X Factor final
One Direction have returned to the show that made them famous - but this time, they performed across the pond.
The British boyband - Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - sent the studio wild when they sang their new single Kiss You on the US version of The X Factor, which saw country singer Tate Stevens crowned as the winner.
The 37-year-old Missouri singer, who was mentored by music exec LA Reid, beat runner-up Carly Rose Sonenclar, a 13-year-old schoolgirl, and teenage girl group Fifth Harmony on the finale that aired live Thursday night.
He won a 5 million dollar recording contract, following his victory on the second season of the Fox show.
More than 35 million votes were cast by viewers after Wednesday's performance show.
LA - who will not return to the programme's third series next year - and fellow judges Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and British series creator Simon Cowell looked like they enjoyed the performance by One Direction.
Harry tweeted after the show: "@tatestevensctry you deserve it!! Such a nice guy... Great to see him win."
