Hewer wouldn't survive Apprentice

Nick Hewer says he wouldn't last long in The Apprentice Nick Hewer says he wouldn't last long in The Apprentice

Nick Hewer has admitted that he'd be a useless contestant on the The Apprentice.

Lord Sugar's right-hand man, 68, is back to pick a Young Apprentice on the new series of the BBC One show.

But Nick says he'd barely make it through the door if he ever competed on the junior version of the show.

"If I'd got through the selection process I would have been thrown out in week one," he said.

"These kids are extraordinarily confident, without being ugly in over-confidence, and they're accomplished. At the age of 16 I would have been terrified," he said.

"I couldn't have done the big Apprentice either. I don't care what anybody says - they're under terrific pressure and I wouldn't have withstood it."

:: Young Apprentice starts on BBC One on Thursday, November 1.
