Schofield: Everybody seems to want to be the first team to beat us

KNUTSFORD put four goals without reply past in-form Billinge on Saturday to maintain a nine-points advantage over their closest rivals in Cheshire Football League Division One.

A tricky trip to Linotype follows this weekend for the champions.

Reds' manager Paul Schofield said: “We’ve noticed a difference in how teams are treating us this season.

“Everybody seems to want to be the first team to beat us, but we’ve talked at length to the players about not being complacent.

“They’ve listened, and adapted their game at times to cope with how our opponents played.”

“The walls are thin in the dressing rooms at Manchester Road, so often we can hear a visiting manager telling his team that they need to stop us playing. It’s a tribute to what we’ve achieved I guess that teams don’t want to take us on.”

Saturday: Linotype (a) 3pm
