Knutsford seek first win against Timperley

KNUTSFORD will be seeking their first win on Saturday when Timperley come to town.

The hockey team were denied a deserved opening day success in the Cheshire Women’s League when hosts Whitchurch scored a late leveller.

The visitors had turned around a 3-1 interval deficit to lead too.

Debutant Hannah Webb combined with Sophie Addison to tee up Gill Lunt for a goal that cancelled out the hosts’ early effort, although they scored twice more before the break.

Webb kept her cool to convert two face-to-face chances with Whitchurch’s custodian to make it 3-3, then Katie Price and Caz Daniels conjured an opening for Nicole Jackson to put Knutsford in front.

Whitchurch pinched a point though.
