JADE Evans ran one of her fastest races so far this summer on Saturday.

The Knutsford athlete, representing Cheshire, clocked 4:53.7 on her way to second spot in the Junior Girls 1,500m B final in the Mason Trophy – an Inter Counties invitational competition for schools teams.

Evans’ Vale Royal Athletics Club teammate Hannah Paver, also from Knutsford, crossed the line second in the Inter Girls 800m B final.

She timed 2:20.6 – her second fastest time of the track term to date.

Cheshire finished third overall in the nine-team event, with the Junior and Inter Girls teams winning the runners-up prize in their respective age categories.
