KNUTSFORD will take on neighbours Holmes Chapel at the first stage of the new-look Cheshire RFU Plate next season.

The rivals have been drawn with Helsby and Parkonians in the group stage of the competition, with the winners and runners up earning a semi final spot after Christmas.

Knutsford meet Chapel, home and away, first on August 29 with the return match three weeks later.

Congleton, Ellesmere Port, Port Sunlight and Prenton make up the other pool.

Knutsford and Holmes Chapel will line up in a 10-team South Lancashire/Cheshire Three next term, with enjoying home advantage on the season’s opening day.

The former host Parkonians, while Chapel entertain Port Sunlight.
