OLIVER Webb continued his preparations for another crack at the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour race by taking part in an official test last weekend.
The Knutsford driver was joined his ByKolles Racing teammates at the iconic French track, where they set the seventh-best time over the course of eight hours.
However Spanish star Fernando Alonso clocked the fastest lap behind the wheel of his Toyota TS050 Hybrid prototype ahead of a debut in the event.
Webb and company took fourth place in the campaign’s opening round at Spa last month, which they used as a rehearsal for Le Mans.
“We considered it as a step towards Le Mans,” said team principal Manfredi Ravetto.
“That meant we decided to run a different set-up, and delivered a race which we saw as very promising ahead with an eye on the next one.”
Webb completed 13 laps on Sunday, while Dominik Kraihamer racked up 16.
Tom Dillman was busiest of the Austrian outfit’s three runners with 25.
They return to France in the coming days ahead of the 2018 race, scheduled to start on Saturday week, June 16.
