Knutsford Ladies 1-2 Neston Ladies 2nd
A LATE goal by their guests condemned Knutsford Ladies to another narrow defeat last weekend.
They appeared set for a stalemate before a mix-up in defence presented an opportunity to Neston that they accepted.
The visitors had taken an early lead before Leigh Carroll-Jones helped Gill Lunt’s shot into the net to restore parity after Sarah Evans dribbled past two opponents in the build-up.
Lunt continued to pose a threat on the right, although her crosses went unconverted.
Juniors Lily Wasilewska and Georgia Allen impressed, while debutant Emily Jones timed perfectly an interception to prevent an attacker running clear.
Goalkeeper Lucy White played a part too, but she was unable to prevent Neston from taking maximum points.
They visit Chester’s thirds on Saturday, push-back 2pm.
