KNUTSFORD’S in-form cricketers, with captain Adeel Bhatti again leading by example, proved too strong for their Tranmere Victoria counterparts in the Cheshire League on Saturday.
A four-wicket win was again built on a fine display in the field, with their opponents back in the shed with 112 on the board.
Bhatti took 6-50, and now has 49 wickets in first-team games this season, while Shake Shimul weighed in with 3-38.
The visitors’ reply started promisingly, with openers Muhammad Arslan (22) and Muhsin Ali (31) among the runs before Harinder Singh (3-22) applied the brakes.
Jay Khan (22) and Zeeshan Shah (10no) made sure Knutsford did not collapse, and they closed on 114-6.
They head next to back-markers Trafford on Saturday, from 1pm.
Knutsford’s seconds had an afternoon off in Division C after scheduled opponents Wistaston Village seconds conceded.
Over Peover are due at Mereheath Lane this weekend, also from 1pm.
