EGERTON fell 4-1 at Daten in Warrington in Cheshire League One on Saturday.
Oliver Hewitt bagged Egerton’s only goal in a third successive defeat.
Strikes from Dean Jennings, Christian Lawlor, two, and Neil McCormack gave the Atoms the three points.
Halebank, the only side with a chance of leaping 12th-placed Egerton, narrowed the gap to five points with a 2-1 win at Mersey Valley.
On Saturday, Egerton will head to Middlewich Town, who are four points in advance of them in 11th spot after Saturday’s 2-2 cup-tie draw with Daten reserves.
