KNUTSFORD start a defining month in the season when they host Blackpool this weekend, according to first-team captain Dave Price.

The Black Knights, in contention to be promoted for a second successive year, take on each of their direct rivals in the next four weeks.

For that reason, Price is seeking a string of consistent performances.

He said: “We’ve a really tough run of games ahead, so we’ll have to be at our best.

“I don’t think we’ve put together a complete performance over 70 minutes yet, although I feel we’re not far off doing that.

“To go up again would be a fantastic achievement, and I’m confident we have a team now that could compete at the next level.

“But while we’ve made progress, there’s still a long way to go yet.”

Knutsford sit third in the North West Men’s League’s top flight after a dozen games, four points adrift of the two teams ahead of them.

However they have games in hand on both.

The Black Knights are in-form too, winning four of their past five league games.

Meanwhile their guests on Saturday, who they beat 5-2 in the return fixture back in October, have yet to register a win in 2017.

Price said: “We need to start strongly and keep things simple.

“At their place we went 3-0 up quickly from moving their side around the pitch.

“But while we have faith in our style of play, we must be wary that Blackpool are capable of causing us problems if we let our standards slip.”

Push back at Westfield Drive is at 2.15pm.
