MOBBERLEY A begin what they hope will be a successful bid to recapture the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s Team Knockout crown tonight, Thursday.
However the runaway Division One leaders have the hardest possible draw – a date with closest-rivals Shaw Heath.
They can take confidence though from winning both league meetings so far this season.
Alderley Union, currently third in the top-flight, clash with fourth-placed Tatton while Brook Street A’s game against Mobberley B ensures three Division One sides will exit at the first-round stage.
Elsewhere, in-form Mobberley C are hoping to upset higher-ranked Wilmslow Cons A in the only tie between rivals from different sections.
Mere C, victors just twice in Division Two this term, attempt to set aside their league woes when they take on Wilmslow Cons B.
