Knutsford 4 Wigan 0
FOUNDATIONS for Knutsford's win were laid in the first half of Saturday's clash in the North West Men's Hockey League top flight.
Two fantastic saves from keeper Tom Wright prevented Wigan from taking the lead.
A few minutes later a short corner move fell to veteran left back Simon Locke who finished with aplomb.
The Black Knights made it 2-0 for half time when a swift break saw the ball reach Hodge who left the 'keeper with no chance.
A plan to put Wigan under more sustained pressure in the second half paid off as easy finishes from Matthew Hodge and Jonny Price put the result out of reach.
