MOBBERLEY A survived a scare from Shaw Heath when they met in the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s top flight.
The champions, unbeaten this season, ran out 5-2 winners – a result that flattered them according to league secretary Tony Crompton.
Mobberley B went down by the same score at Alderley Union, who rise to second place.
The table’s bottom four sides met, with Brook Street A inflicting a 10th defeat of the campaign on back-markers Morley while Wilmslow Cons A squeezed past Tatton on aggregate.
Wilmslow RBL moved a point clear at the Division Two summit as a reward for brushing aside Mere C, while Mobberley C sit second after seeing off Mere C.
A run of 49 by Dave Rainford, the highest individual break of the season, was a highlight of their 5-2 win.
Wilmslow Cons B hold on to third place after edging Brook Street B.
