Egerton 2-3 Halebank
EGERTON conceded a goal from the last kick of the match when they bowed out of the JA Walton Challenge Cup against Halebank on Saturday.
It only added to the frustration felt by Steve Hardy’s men at the final whistle after they had recovered from 2-0 down to draw level.
They also felt a free kick that led to their Cheshire League One rivals’ winner, when referee Paul Codling penalised Yellows goalkeeper Joel Thompson for handling a back-pass, should not have been awarded.
Chris Trowbridge and Tom Hampton were both on target for Egerton, for whom Rob Hughes was later sent off.
