A DERBY duel between teams from Mere in the Knutsford and District Amateur League set an unusual record on Tuesday.
The opening frame, won by Mere B, yielded the lowest points total– just 45 – in the competition’s history, while Ed Wakefield’s personal haul of 27 equals the smallest.
Mere A claimed bragging rights at the end of the Division Two encounter after a 5-2 victory.
Mobberley C beat Mobberley D by the same score, while there were wins too for Brook Street B and leaders Wilmslow RBL against Mere C and Wilmslow Cons B respectively.
There is no change to the table in Division One after champions Mobberley A brushed aside Brook Street A on Thursday and second-placed Alderley Union edged out Wilmslow Cons A on aggregate.
Shaw Heath and Mobberley B were narrow victors against Tatton and Morley respectively.
