Knutsford 7-14 Wirral 4th
KNUTSFORD bowed out of the North West Intermediate League’s Plate following a narrow defeat against Wirral’s fourths at the weekend.
Blues played their part in an entertaining contest, and trailed 7-0 at the end of a first half in which their defence had been strong.
Still in the game, they restored parity with a try of their own when Dave Owens crashed over from close range shortly after the interval.
The teams could not be separated until a kick bounced favourably for the visitors to touch down between the posts.
A successful conversion secured their spot in the last 16.
Knutsford are back on league duty this Saturday, when Lymm's fourths are their guests at the Academy.
Kick off is at 3pm.
