Egerton 5-1 Barnton reserves
CHRIS Trowbridge scored twice, increasing his goals tally for the season to seven, as Egerton reached the JA Walton Challenge Cup second round on Saturday.
Rob Hughes, Oliver Hewitt and substitute Tom Hampton were also on target at Mereheath Lane against opponents from the Cheshire League’s third tier.
Yellows will have home advantage again at the next stage after being paired with Halebank.
“Barnton didn’t cause us many problems, and the outcome never looked in danger,” said Phil Ballance, head of adult football at Egerton.
The Knutsford outfit return to league duty this weekend when they head to Middlewich Town, kick off 3pm.
