CHELFORD A claimed the second promotion place in the Knutsford Friday League’s Division Two after beating closest-rivals Victory Hall B in their final fixture.
They dropped only five chalks during a convincing success on home turf, and join Mere B – who concluded an impressive campaign by ceding just two shots to Oughtrington B – in the top flight next season.
They take the place of Swettenham B and Knutsford B, who are both demoted after heavy defeats on their travels.
Railway A and Victory Hall A, crowned as Division One champions for a third successive season, were their conquerors.
Knutsford A finish as runners-up after signing off with a crushing home win against Cranford A.
On Sunday, Church Inn A won the Jack Bryning Pairs for the first time after beating opponents Knutsford B 93-65 in the final at Victory Hall.
In a play-off to decide who finished third, last year’s winners Warford Park B defeated Mere B by 88-53.
