Knutsford FC 0 Widnes 3
KNUTSFORD got their pre-season campaign underway on Saturday but a side weakened by unavailability lost to Widnes.
With player-manager Scott Dignan at a wedding and several players still away on holiday, only six first-team regulars took to the field at Manchester Road.
Meanwhile, North West Counties outfit Widnes were playing their seventh pre-season game and their superior sharpness told as they took the lead through Jay McShane.
Further goals from Kevin Towey and Darrhyl Mason sealed Widnes’ victory.
After facing Irlam last night, Tuesday, Knutsford host Cheadle Town on Thursday, kick off 7pm, before a trip to Old Alts on Saturday.
Knutsford: Moore/Spencer, Davies, Jenyons, Smart, Torbitt, Mannion, Pickford, Baker, Cartner, Nolan, Myers. Subs: Way, Williams
