MORLEY B won a thrilling final in the Knutsford and District League Team Knockout, holding their nerve at the end of a decisive last frame.

They started a contest with higher-ranked Brook Street A with a 40-point handicap head-start, but big wins for players on both teams at Victory Hall saw the aggregate swing one way and then another.

Potting pink and black clinched a 15-point success for the underdogs.

Meanwhile Mere's star turn Sam Jackson remains on course for a knockout double after reaching the Jay Trophy last four.

He is joined in the semi finals of the league's premier scratch singles competition by Richard Bayley (Wilmslow Cons A), and Mobberley duo Mike Roylance - a winner back in 2005 - and Tony Crompton.

Jackson takes on Roylance at Mobberley tonight, Wednesday, while Crompton, a runner-up in the past three editions, will meet Bayley.
