ADAM Jenkinson will race a Kawasaki in next season’s National Superstock 1000 Championship after agreeing a deal with the manufacturer’s official team – NMT No-Limits.

The Knutsford rider finished as runner-up in the series in 2013 on board one of the Japanese marque’s machines for SMT Racing, something he thinks he can improve on.

“I’ve always felt comfortable on the green machines,” said the 31-year-old.

“I had a successful season on a Kawasaki two years ago, almost winning the title.”

He will compete on a newly-built Ninja ZX-10R model, which has been developed in partnership with the Kawasaki Racing Team.

Jenkinson said: “I can’t wait to get started, and I want to be ready to fight for race wins from the off in April.

“Kawasaki have lent to me a KX250F motocross bike to do some training over the winter, and that will help me get into the best possible shape.”

Jenkinson is no stranger to the category, in which he’s fought for the title for the past five seasons.

He classified fifth overall last term, a campaign interrupted by an injury sustained at Donington Park that caused him to miss three rounds while he recovered.

The Bucklow Hill-based ace ended the term on a high though, securing third place at Brands Hatch in October – his second podium finish of the year.

“I can’t wait to see what Adam can do with the bike on track next year,” said Ross Burridge, Kawasaki UK’s senior racing co-ordinator.

“He’s an accomplished rider who is more than capable of winning the title for us.

“It’s not his first time on board a Kawasaki either, so we’re confident the partnership will bring with it great results.”

The 2016 campaign is scheduled to start at Silverstone on Sunday, April 10.
