OLIVER Webb’s target is a return to the podium when the World Endurance Championship season resumes in Shanghai this weekend.
The Knutsford driver, who has helped Swiss outfit Team SARD Morand to a hat-trick of top-five finishes in the past three rounds, has his sights set higher for a six-hour race in China on Sunday.
Third in the series’ LMP2 class at Spa in May, they have not been able to repeat the trick since.
“We were looking good for a podium result – maybe even a win – in Fuji last time out,” he said.
“But we lost power, and then a lot of time after I slid off a wet track into the gravel.
“My teammates did a great job to recover, and that’s the positive we’ll take forward to Shanghai.”
Team SARD Morand occupy fifth place in the LMP2 standings with two rounds of the campaign remaining.
The final race is in Bahrain in late November.
