KNUTSFORD archer Alex Smith made it through the qualification round at the World University Games before a defeat on Monday.
Smith, representing Great Britain, qualified in the men’s individual recurve category in Gwnagju, South Korea on Saturday.
The Oxford University student, who began his archery career at Knutsford-based North Cheshire Bowmen, then went down to Italian archer Marco Morello.
Smith suffered a 7-1 defeat on Monday.
The recurve finals are due to take place today, Wednesday, while Smith’s GB teammates completed their compound schedule yesterday.
