WITH half of the season now behind them, Toft have still to be toppled from the Cheshire County League summit.

Nor are they looking likely to be.

Toby Drummond’s men are 20 points clear of their closest rival following a three–wicket win against Marple on Saturday, their eighth Premier Division victory of the campaign.

After choosing to bat, the visitors to Booth’s Park totalled 186.

Jack Goode made an early breakthrough for the hosts, but spinner Jimmy Lomas (6-71) again did the damage with support from Rob Jones (1-14).

Toft’s reply stuttered at 34-3 before Jones (57) and Jake Dickinson (60) put on 65 runs for the fourth wicket.

Dickinson added 72 more with Eddie Stubbs (30) before Drummond eased the hosts to their target in the 32nd over.

Bowdon visit this weekend.

A narrow seven-run win at lower-ranked Elworth on Sunday secured for Toft a quarter-finals place in the Cheshire Cup.

The Knutsford outfit racked up 196, with Henry Hughes (82) and Sam Hatcher (35) the leading scorers.

Their opponents, from the North Staffs and South Cheshire League, were dismissed for 189.

Pete Talbot took four wickets.

Toft seconds lost by 92 runs at Marple, who posted 225-3 after being put in.

Luke Beesley (43) was the only batsman to make an impression in the visitors’ reply, which ended early at 133.

Harri Dickinson (107) scored a century for Toft’s thirds at their Grappenhall counterparts on Sunday, only for a lack of support – save for Doug Angus’ 23 – to leave them all out for 199.

Grappers secured a two-wicket win at 200-8, with Will Dunkerley (3-24) the pick of the bowling attack.
