BETH Simms, from Knutsford Vikings, reached a final at the ASA North West Regional Championship on Sunday.

She classified eighth in the under 16s girls’ 50m backstroke at Manchester Aquatic Centre, timing 33.86s.

The teenager was seventh fastest in a 13-strong field during the heats.

She represented Vikings in her age group for the 200m and 100m backstroke, 200m individual medley and 100m breaststroke too.

Simms was seventh too in the 100m breaststroke, timing 1:24.20.

George Frost (over 17s men’s 50m freestyle), Lottie Fingleton (under 14s girls’ 50m freestyle) and Louis Thomas (under 13s boys’ 50m backstroke) took part too.

The regional championships took place over three weekends, split between pools at Liverpool and Manchester.

Knutsford Vikings turn their attention next to the final Crusader League gala of the season at Halton this Saturday.

Division Two rivals Dane Valley and Hazel Grove & Bramhall are scheduled to send teams too.
