A TEENAGER from Ollerton is set to compete at the Horse of the Year Show.

Keira Bradley, 16, took second place in the Working Hunter class at the SEIB Insurance Broker’s Search for a Star qualifier in Lancashire.

Riding her mother Jo Bradley’s mare, Evolution, she fought off stiff competition from other riders in the class to gain qualification for the prestigious annual event.

“We’ve come a long way,” said Keira.

“Evolution has made a lot of progress, and she’s made me so proud and happy.

“It’s a dream to go to the Horse of the Year Show, I’m not sure it’s sunk in yet.”

The Bradley family have owned the seven-year-old mare for three years, buying her with the intention of eventing and entering worker’s classes.

Keira added: “She was quite difficult to begin with, and I had to have regular lessons to help her with

jumping as well as to help us develop a partnership.”

She will compete at the Search for a Star Championship finals at the Horse of the Year Show, held at Birmingham, in October.
