OLIVER Webb’s new team boss has tipped the Knutsford driver to be a race-winner during his debut campaign in the World Endurance Championship.
Benoit Morand’s SARD Morand outfit showed promise during a first foray onto the track at a test in southern France last week.
“The team did well and I think we’re competitive,” he said.
“I’m pleased with our combination of driver line-ups – they can win races.”
Webb will share duties behind the wheel with Pierre Ragues and Tristan Vautier for the season’s opening round at Silverstone later this month.
Together they will pilot a Morgan Evo SARD entered in the series’ LMP2 class.
Webb was the second quickest driver circulating during Saturday morning’s session at the Paul Ricard circuit.
He said: “We had a great couple of days’ testing, and are ready now for 2015.
“It’s going to be an epic year.”
Silverstone hosts a six-hour race on Sunday, April 12.
