JACK Bushell became the youngest winner of a Knutsford and District Amateur League singles competition after winning the Six Reds Challenge at Mobberley last week.
The 15-year-old, who plays for Mere, proved too strong for Jake O’Neill (Wilmslow Cons B) in the final, dominating a contest in which the combined age of the participants was under 40.
Mobberley A duo Mike Roylance and Steve Flinders were the beaten semi-finalists in the short format handicap tournament.
Mobberley A overturned an 80-point handicap deficit to defeat Division One rivals Morley in the Team Knockout final at Mere Parish on Wednesday, the first part of a league and cup double.
They secured top spot in Division One for another season following a 6-1 win over Shaw Heath the following day, Thursday.
Mobberley B defeated Mobberley C to keep alive their hopes of finishing as runners-up, while Morley recovered from their cup final defeat to whitewash Tatton after amassing 466 points on aggregate.
In the other match, Brook Street A squeezed past Wilmslow Cons A by the odd frame.
Mere B closed to within two points of the summit in the second tier following a 5-2 success against Mere C.
Leaders Brook Street B suffered a slender defeat at third-placed Mere A, while Wilmslow Cons B hammered Royal London 6-1.
Elsewhere, Mobberley E lost narrowly to clubmates Mobberley D.
