KNUTSFORD racing driver Oliver Webb was part of a team that claimed victory in the Dubai 24-hour race on Saturday.
The 23-year-old helped Germany-based Black Falcon to dominate the tenth anniversary edition of the endurance race in one of their Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 cars.
Webb, along with Abdulaziz Al Faisal, Hubert Haupt and Yelmer Buurman, completed 604 laps of the circuit at the 5.39km Dubai Autodrome – four more than their closest rivals.
The quartet took the lead after the opening 60 minutes, a position they held for most of the remainder.
Webb, taking part for the second time after celebrating a class podium with Leipert Motorsport in 2014, returned to GT racing after a sparkling maiden campaign in sports cars during which he helped Signatech-Alpine successfully defend their with European Le Mans series title.
Black Falcon, with three overall wins, are now the most successful team in the event’s history.
They were victors for the first time in 2012 and again the following year.
