KNUTSFORD put 13 goals without reply past their opponents to start in style a new season in the North West Men’s League.
The Black Knights did not look back after establishing a lead, reaching double figures in an encouraging display of speed, agility and aggression.
Playmaker Dave Price, assisted by Stu Kenyon, orchestrated their best moves.
Captain Mat Hodge scored four times, while both Prices – Johnny and Dave – helped themselves to hat-tricks.
Simon Locke sent a rising shot past the visitors’ goalkeeper, while Richard Saxton scored with a reverse hit strike.
Tom Howard was Knutsford’s other scorer, capping a fine individual performance with four assists.
Lancaster, perhaps depleted with it being the start of term at university, had no answer.
Knutsford can expect a sterner test when they make a short trip to Macclesfield, beaten narrowly by Bowdon thirds in their opening fixture, this Saturday.
Push back is 3pm.
Richard Jones scored the second string’s goal in a 2-1 defeat at Denbigh in Division Six South.
It proved a more difficult day for Knutsford thirds, beaten 5-0 by Brooklands fifths.
Knutsford Ladies went down 2-0 at home to South Cheshire, a second successive defeat in the Cheshire League’s top flight.
