KNUTSFORD boosted their chances of promotion from the Cheshire Alliance Division Two with a five-wicket victory over relegation-threatened Norbury at Mereheath Lane on Saturday.
They dismissed their guests for 126, with John Sheldon claiming an impressive haul of four wickets at a cost of only three runs.
In reply, Knutsford reached their target inside 23 overs thanks to knocks worth 49 and 33 from Adnan Shafiq and Ben Cook respectively.
Knutsford’s seconds were unable to stop Glazebury in Division Four.
Andy Morris (37) and Mustak Masud Tayuf (21) were the only batsmen to reach double figures as Knutsford were bowled out for 107 before their hosts cantered to a seven-wicket victory.
Knutsford's fledgling junior team played their first match on Saturday, losing to Toft.
