STUDENTS from Knutsford Academy are heading to America in August after securing scholarships to play football.

Egerton player Jake Denerley-Jones will join Cayuga Community College in Auburn, New York, where he will play for Spartans.

Sixth form colleague Michael Stratford, from Hyde Egerton Academy, will team up with St Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, and turn out for the Fighting Bees.

The pair will combine their on-pitch activity with studying for the next four years.
