VICTORY Hall A reached the quarter finals of the Knutsford Friday League Team Knockout at the expense of Goostrey B after overturning a 68-chalk deficit.
The holders went through by nine points at Mere.
There was a safe passage too for Division One side Mere A, competition winners in 2009, against Cranford B.
In a battle of top tier rivals, Cranford A proved too strong for High Legh A while Equiport – runners-up last season – took a tumble against lower-ranked Knutsford B.
The same fate befell Church Inn B, who lost by an eight-chalk margin against Division Two underdogs Chelford A.
The competition resumes on Friday, June 6.
