KNUTSFORD’S cricketers celebrated winning start to the season in Cheshire Alliance Division Two after a 28-run success against newly-promoted Maritime.
The home team were on course for a sizeable total at 56-2 after skipper Adam Clayton had won the toss, only for a collapse to leave them all out for 90.
Zahirul Islam (34) and Amir Shahzad (14) were the only batsmen to reach double figures.
The visitors lost wickets at regular intervals in reply, Clayton claiming five wickets as they succumbed for 70.
New signing David Molloy took 4-28.
