UNDERDOGS Brook Street B claimed the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s Team Knockout title following a surprise success against Shaw Heath B in the final.
Carl Prince, so often his side’s star turn this season, helped them to a merited 42-point victory at Mobberley to set up a President’s Cup date with Division One champions Mobberley A later this month.
The league’s best team extended an unbeaten run to 71 matches in their final fixture of the campaign, though they relied on Steve Flinders to protect their run. He overturned a 54-point deficit in a decisive frame against Wilmslow Cons A.
Elsewhere, Wilmslow RBL condemned Mobberley C to the drop following an aggregate win – a result replicated by Tatton at home to runners-up Mobberley B.
Wilmslow Cons B lost their final match 6-1 against Morley.
In Division Two, Shaw Heath B signed off the season with a whitewash of Mere C.
Mobberley D finished on a high with a fine 6-1 victory against Mere A, while Royal London eased past Wilmslow Cons C.
