MOBBERLEY C won three frames against clubmates Mobberley B, but it is unlikely to help them avoid relegation to the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s second tier.

They remain adrift at the bottom of Division One.

Elsewhere Morley edged Brook Street A, while Wilmslow RBL all but ensure they will play again in the top flight next season following a 5-2 defeat of fifth-placed Tatton.

Jonathan Smith’s break of 58 was a highlight of Wilmslow Cons A’s narrow victory against Wilmslow Cons B, a game preceded by a minute’s silence to mark the death of former B team captain Kevin Shackleton.

Smith amassed 106 points in his frame success, leaving his side third in the standings.

Shaw Heath remain favourites to be promoted from Division Two following their latest success, this time at Mobberley D’s expense.

Second-placed Mere B lost at Wilmslow Cons C, so are vulnerable to being overtaken by Royal London.

Also on Tuesday, Brook Street B proved too strong for Mobberley E. Mere C scored the surprise victory of the week, their first of the campaign, at the expense of Mere A.
